Konia, Barrie Chiefdom, Pujehun
Konia village is an impoverished subsistence farming community. The village has two wells which were built over 25 years ago, but both were damaged and intentionally contaminated during the civil war. There is no functioning sanitation in this village and no health facilities.
We have secured funds to provide four wells with hand pumps, four large rainwater harvesting tanks and seven twin-chamber community eco-sanitation toilets at different locations within the village. This will transform the wellbeing of the whole community, giving them the good health to be able to take up education and livelihood opportunities, which will be groundnut and cassava farming support.
