Zimbabwe Helping Individuals
Thulani After her mother's death in July 2002, Thulani went to live with an old friend. However, one day Thulani was found crying in a garage, with plastic bags containing all her clothes. She was taken to Mr and Mrs Mwenje who decided to care for her, along with their own three children. When the Mwenje's applied for and were given a new job they decided that Thulani should go with them, and she is thrilled to go! At Christmas I was given a box full of Christmas goodies to send to Thulani by her friend Millie Quinton-Smith. Mr Mwenje talks, with tears in his eyes, about how Thulani went round the room giving each member of her new family something from that box, without a second thought. All the children have written letters of thanks and this will explain why Millie will get four letters, not just the one! Millie has also sent money for school fees, and books. This will also pay for shoes and uniform. Millie and her friends are teenage school girls from Newbury. We would like to say thank you to them all, but especially to Millie. |
